Ahmed Abdel Mohsen

www.donkeyshot.ch www.fekraculture.com Ahmed studied Media Sciences and Journalism at the Faculty of Art, South Valley University in Egypt. He then started studying Film and working at the F+F School of Art and Media Design Zurich. As a freelance filmmaker he realises feature and documentary films. Ahmed is co-founder of both donkeyshot filmproduction and FEKRA CULTURAL CENTER.
Birgit Pestalozzi

Birgit Pestalozzi

Birgit holds a Master of Arts in Social Science and of Business Administration from the University of Zurich. Before and during her studies she worked for Advertising Agencies and Financial Institutes. Until 2015 she was the Head of Marketing & Communications at Ernst & Young Switzerland. She now is a freelance Coach and Marketing consultant.

Küde Meier

Küde Meier

Küde studied business and economics at the HSG St. Gallen and the University of Basel. For over 40 years he has been working as a cultural economist in numerous projects. Since 1976 till 2015 he has been working in various positions at the Solothurner Filmtage. At the same time he worked as producer, production manager, and location manager for film productions in Switzerland as well as abroad. Until today he is part of the management of the Center for Socio-Cultural Interaction in Madurai, India.
Pablo Kirschke

Pablo Kirschke

Pablo is a graduate of the Zurich University of the Arts 1991. As a Creative Director for Animation he founded Champignon Images / Images Oblige. For him, animation is a brilliant tool to transform content with emotion. He believes that it requires the most sensitive skills to just pick the right amount of movement for each single component.
Achim Gansner

Achim Gansner

Achim started off by training in various different jobs. 2002 he started a one year foundation course which was followed by Film studies at the F+F School of Art and Media Design Zurich. Since his graduation in 2010 Achim works in different film, theater, and other art productions. His work lead him to the art collective MartinachiM which he founded together with his wife in 2015.
Sascha Stahl

Sascha Stahl

Sascha was born in Sirnach, Switzerland. He studied Economics and German Studies in Zurich and Vienna. He now lives in Zurich and works in the consulting business. And does literary works with two edited novels and a series of poems.
Sandra Gysi

Sandra Gysi

www.donkeyshot.ch www.fekraculture.com Sandra holds a Master in Social Anthropology, Film Sciences, and German Philology from the University of Zurich. She regularly traveled to Egypt and studied the Arabic language. She continued training in directing, cinematography, and editing. As a culture manager she organised various contemporary art exhibitions from the Africa and the Arab World. Beside being a freelance filmmaker and realising documentaries Sandra now works as a film producer, project manager. She is the co-founder of donkeyshot filmproduction and FEKRA CULTURAL CENTER.
Karoline Bierner

Karoline Bierner

Karoline studied stage design at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She then worked with the theater group ” Dante or Die ” in London and on Theseum Theater in Athens. Amongst others, she has worked at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and at the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt. Since 2009, Karoline is freelancing as set and costumer designer.
Franziska Reck

Franziska Reck

www.reckfilm.ch Franziska has been actively involved in the world of film for over twenty years, promoting independent filmmaking in Switzerland. Beginning as a film distributor at the Filmcoopi in Zurich (1983—1990), she continued building up the distribution and promotion of Swiss films as director of the IGV/CID (1993-2000) and as a freelance film producer herself (since 1990). She has a special fondness for the film essay. Through her experience and long engagement as film producer and distributor she is very well connected to the independent Swiss and European film scene and its promotion through both public and private organisations and boards.
Martina Reist

Martina Reist

Martina started off as a dressmaker. After completing her diploma in 2000 she started a one year foundation course in 2002. Right after that she became a mother and continued with different jobs based on textile and print as well as founding and leading a conceptstrore in Basel in 2006. Since then Martina works in different film, theater, and other art productions wich lead her to the establishment of the art collective MartinachiM in 2015 together with her husband.
Kariem Moustafa

Kariem Moustafa

Kariem studied business administration and dentistry in Cairo before moving to Switzerland 10 years ago to follow a career in the private business sector. He is currently assisting in the administration and fundraising for the Swiss Initiative.

Noura Abla

Noura Abla

Noura is studying in her last year at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she specialises in Theory at the Art and Media department of the school. In her studies, she focuses on the connection between art and politics, as well as intercultural issues. After various internships she is now a coordinator at the Fayoum Art Center, Egypt and a production assistant at the donkeyshot filmproduction company, Switzerland.
Alexander Meier

Alexander Meier

www.alexandermeier.com Since 2000 Alexander Meier works as a director, writer and editor . He has directed several short films , including the award-winning short film ” CHYENNE ” ( golden Pardino Locarno , Swiss Film Prize , the Zurich Film Award ). Alexander Meier worked 2003-2012 as a lecturer in film at the F + F , school for art and media design . In 2004 he founded the production company Meier poduction and has since realized as director and producer numerous commercials for international companies and nonprofit organizations
Felix von Muralt

Felix von Muralt

www.felixmuralt.com Felix first studied linguistics and sociology at the Zurich University. He then continued his studies in photojournalism and documentary film at the International Center of Photography New York. He then trained as a film technician, photographer, and cameraman. And started off as a camera assistant and photographer. 2014 he won the swiss film prize for best camera for the movie The Black Brothers. Felix now works as a cinematographer and director and is a member of the European Film Academy as well as the Swiss Film Academy
Elvira Isenring

Elvira Isenring

Elvira studied Film at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Geneva from where she graduated in 2005. Since her graduation she has worked as a freelance filmmaker. 2009 she began working in theater and a collaboration with the Theater Neumarkt started where she first worked as a cinematographer and then as a video artist. 2013 she received a studio scholarship and stayed in Egypt for six months. Elvira now freelances as a filmmaker and participates in theater productions.

Killian Lilienfeld

Killian will be giving an open lecture on Festival Management. He is in his last year of Film Studies at University of Zurich. After two years as a volunteer he started working for Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur in 2009, and became part of the Selection Committee for The International Competition last year.

Mahmoud

Mahmoud is a passionate chef and masters the art of keeping the entire crew nourished and energized. He caters for all possible dietary needs and works with local and fresh ingredients only. Being an inventive chef, he added a huge variety of farm-to-table vegetarian and vegan recipes to his portfolio.

Mohammed El Sharqawy

Mohammed is a graduate of editing class of 2007 at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt. Ever since his graduation he has been working as a freelance editor, colourist, and cinematographer for numerous projects.
Ibrahim Abla

Ibrahim Abla

Ibrahim first started studying archeology at the Cairo University. After a year he dedicated all his time to studying filmmaking at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt from where he graduated in 2008. His graduation film won several prices. Since his graduation he has been working on various fiction as well as advertising films as a director’s assistant. Ibrahim is now working as a freelance filmmaker.
