Karmakol - the old village
Karmakol is a village 400 km north of Khartoum. Decades ago the old part of the village was abandoned, as it was regularly flooded by the Nile River and the villagers moved hundreds of meters into the desert, to the recent Karmakol village.

The revival
Today, the floods have been engineered out of existence – leaving behind a perfect location for a culture & education center, culture festivals and an open film studio.
